Krystyna Jędrzejewska-Szmek
is a visual artist and biologist. She is most interested in the interrelationships between humans and the more-than-human world, composed of beings such as trees, toads, moss and fungi. She is a member of ZAKOLE collective, which focuses on looking for new ways of telling and experiencing places like wetlands and bringing the perspective of the creatures that inhabit them. Beyond working with the visual, Krystyna is also an author of numerous texts and an animator of various social activities and workshops. She is a co-author of the award-winning artbook Tropicale that deals with the question of relations between botanics and colonialism.
