Ignacy Hryniewicz

is a cultural animator, curator and creator of interdisciplinary social projects. He is fascinated with the practice of utopia in action, crossing the boundaries of imagination, and operating at the intersection of art and science. Co-founder (together with Katarzyna Korytowska) of Synergia collective, which has realized several transmedia music events in cooperation with various institutions and organizations.

During the Congress, Ignacy Hryniewicz will realize a nightly event entitled Apocalypso – a declining dance-performance ball. The word “apocalypse” comes from the Greek ἀποκάλυψις, meaning “to discover” or “to reveal”. The activity will recall the original meaning of apocalypse and combine it with transformative potential of calypso music. The dance’s affirmation of life and celebration of (black) humor will help push back catastrophic narratives and find delight in the troubled present. To quote Timothy Morton: Shake hands with a hedgehog and disco!
